Returning To Work Update

Updated: Feb 17, 2021

I am happy to announce it has finally been confirmed that Hair Stylists/Hairdressers can officially start work from Saturday 4th July. Following the update from the Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the government has confirmed that we can go ahead, however sadly all Beauty Services are not possible at this time.

The safety and wellbeing of my clients and myself is my No1 priority, therefore in line with the Governments COVID-19 guidelines I would like to make you aware of my new health, safety and hygiene policy which I will be implementing for the safety of each of you and myself including the wearing of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) which will be updated regularly as and when needed following the Government guidelines.

COVID-19 Guidelines & Precautions In Advance Of Your Appointment And During Your Appointment

Before your appointment you must let me know if you have cut or coloured your hair during lockdown. If you have coloured your hair, please let me know what you have used It could result in me being unable to do your hair on the day if I haven’t been made aware prior to your appointment.

I will require to carry out an Allergy Alert Test 48hrs prior to any colour appointment.

Please note that: If you have been told to self-isolate or are feeling unwell with a high temperature or you are living with someone who has symptoms of corona virus, then I will reschedule your appointment for a later date, taking into consideration that it can take up to 14 days for symptoms to start to appear.

You will not be charged for re-scheduling or cancelling your appointment for this reason

I will be emailing a wellness consultation form for each client which will need to be filled out before any service or treatment.

A COVID-19 risk assessment has been carried out various hygiene, sanitation, safety training related to COVID-19.

I will be taking your temperature upon arrival, this will be contactless, and carried out with an infrared thermometer on your forehead.

All towels and gowns will be single use only or disposable.

Card payments only where ever possible.

Hair to be freshly washed prior to any hair cutting.

Before and after each client visit, I will reset and rotate between different sets of equipment, making sure to properly disinfect all tools after each use and they will be sterilised.

I will be wearing PPE for your and my protection, a clear visor that covers my face and or face mask depending on the service carried out and wash my hands and or use hand sanitiser according to NHS guidelines before services or treatments and use gloves and apron where needed. I would also ask you to wash/sanitise your hands before we start your service or treatment.

Face masks (required) supplied to my clients or welcome to use your own. This is especially important whilst I carry out any service around the front of your face such as a fringe trim or colouring. You are allowed to remove your mask for certain times if you are feeling uncomfortable, have underlying health conditions or have a medical condition that would be made worse by the wearing of a mask.

(Guidelines on using face coverings/masks: It is important to use face coverings properly and wash your hands before putting them on and before and after taking them off. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for 20seconds or use hand sanitiser before putting a face covering on, and before and after removing it. When wearing a face covering, avoid touching your face or face covering, as you could contaminate them with germs from your hands. Change your face covering if it becomes damp or if you’ve touched it. Continue to wash your hands regularly. Change and wash your face covering daily If it’s not washable, dispose of it carefully in your usual waste.)

I would ask that you keep the area where I will be working well ventilated, by opening windows and by fixing doors open where appropriate.

As I must maintain social distancing within my workspace wherever possible when providing close contact services, (hair, beauty, makeup) and the nature of my work is such that maintaining social distancing will not usually be possible when actively serving a client. I would ask that social distancing guidelines (2m, or 1m with risk mitigation where 2m is not viable, is acceptable) is maintained from other people in the household. Only the client should be present in the same room for appointments in the home.

Please kindly follow the guidance to help us retain a safe working and visiting environment.
