Frequently Asked Questions
Sunless Tanning over the years has become more popular due to the risks of skin damage and cancer associated with skin exposed to the sun. Spray tans and self tanner are a safe way to have sun kissed skin all year round.
Is spray tanning safe for my skin?
Yes, DHA is a non toxic chemical found in spray tanning products, this causes your skin to darken whilst using sunless tanning products. DHA-based sunless tanning has been recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation, American Academy of Dermatology Association, Canadian Dermatology Association and the American Medical Association as a safer alternative to sun-bathing.
Is my skin protected from UV rays?
No, your skin would still require the same protection as before you had any type of sunless tanning. You would need to use suitable sun screen for your face and body.
Can I spray tan even though I have fair skin?
Yes, spray tanning products are made in a range of different strengths suitable for all skin tones.
How dark will my tan get?
Depending on your naturel skin colour and the level of DHA you decide will effect the outcome, also everyone's skin responds differently. The higher the number of DHA would indicate a darker colour.
How long does it take?
Spray tanning usually takes around 20-30 minutes, this will continue to develop over a period of time. Sunless tanning products for use at home which come in either a mousse, spray or cream formula will also develop over a period of time or gradually depending on which product you use.
How long will my spray tan last?
Depending on your levels of exfoliation and how often you moisturise, your tan should last approximately 7+ days. Oily products will strip your tan therefore it is advised that you only use oil free products to prolong your tan.
